Itch-Soothe® is used for the treatment of various forms of pruritis (itching), including itching associated with allergies, chickenpox (where the skin is unbroken) and itchiness due to insect bites and stings.
By relieving itching, Itch-Soothe® prevents itchiness and breaking of the skin caused by scratching, reducing the risk of secondary infection. Itch-Soothe® may also be used for the treatment of scabies (infestation of the skin by mites).
Common Uses
Itch-Soothe may also be used for the treatment of scabies. This anti-itch cream is meant for topical use only and should not be applied to broken or damaged skin.
Directions
For itching: Adults may apply a small amount of Itch-Sooth to the affected area 2-3 times every day until the itching subsides. This product may provide relief for 6-10 hours after each application. If you continue to experience itching after five days of using this product, you must consult your doctor or pharmacist.
For scabies: ADULTS Take a warm bath and dry the skin. Rub Itch-Soothe Cream into the entire body surface (excluding the face and scalp) until no traces of the preparation remain visible on the surface. Repeat this application once daily, preferably in the evening, for a total of 3-5 days. Pay particular attention to sites susceptible to infestation by the mites (e.g. the areas between the fingers and toes, wrists, the armpits and genitals). Areas, where there is pus formation should be covered with a dressing impregnated with Itch-Soothe. While the treatment is in progress, you may take a bath before the next application.
After completing the treatment, a cleansing bath should be taken, followed by a change of bed linen and clothing. For children older than three years old, the same dosage as for adults may be applied. For children three years old and below, the dosage must be reduced to once a day.
